Now, to explain how the voting rounds will work.
Because this is a Readers Choice award, the contest organizers stipulate that voters must have read a minimum of two books on this list to vote.
How to Vote
On April 13th, voting opens on the Realm Makers website at https://realmmakers.net/awards/the-alliance-award/ . Voters will choose a star rating for the books they wish to vote on, five stars indicating a fabulous book, 1 star indicating a poor book. In addition, voters will need to offer a specific explanation of the star rating they chose, not to exceed 500 characters. These explanations will help the contest organizers guard against “popularity contest voting,” where an author mobilizes their following to vote without that following necessarily having read the requisite two books.
There is no limit to the number of books you may rate, so long as you have read them. Authors and readers alike are encouraged to reach out to their circles of influence to publicize voting. We want a vast cross-section of readers involved as voters!
The voting will remain open until the end of April. The total star calculation for the books in this round will determine which five books move on to the final voting round. The system of star rating and explanation will also apply to the final round.
