Congratulations to the Finalists for The Alliance Award

The results are in from the first voting round of The Alliance Award, Realm Makers’s readers choice award for speculative fiction.

Readers rated twenty amazing works of speculative fiction with anywhere between one and five stars and had their say which books they loved from 2016. The margin was tight, for sure, but the books that emerged from the pack and earned a spot in our final round are…

A TIME TO RISE – Nadine Brandes

DEFY – Tricia Mingerink

SAMARA’S PERIL – Jaye L. Knight

These titles are not listed in the order they finished, as we want these books to have the cleanest slate possible as they head into the finals. Speaking of the final voting round, here is how that will work:

Readers may visit The Alliance Award page starting on May 10th, 2017, where they will find a voting form for the finals. We ask that readers only rate books that they have read, whether that means they drop in and give a star rating to one book, a few, or even all five.

***Please note! For your vote to count, you will also need to give a brief explanation of why you rated the book the way you did. Nothing too elaborate–if you can compose a tweet, your comment doesn’t need to be any more detailed than that.

Voting closes May 31st. The book that receives the highest total star total will earn the accolades of being the winner of the first-ever Alliance Award.

We’ll announce this winner on Friday, July 28th at the Realm Makers Awards Banquet. A couple hundred speculative fiction enthusiasts will be in attendance to congratulate the winning author, who will receive a commemorative certificate.

We hope fans of these excellent works will come out in force to show their appreciation for the books they love. May the best-loved book win!
